HAZARD DESIGNATION LIST
The following hazard designations document the primary risk vectors associated with each anomaly. Personnel must be certified in all applicable hazard categories prior to engagement with the corresponding anomalous entity.
| Code | Label | Meaning |
|---|---|---|
| A | Autonomous | Entity demonstrates independent decision-making processes and/or exhibits non-standard behavioral patterns without external catalysts. Requires algorithmic prediction models to anticipate response variables. |
| C | Cognitive | Demonstrates capability to restructure, impair, or otherwise manipulate standard neurological processes including but not limited to: memory formation, perceptual input processing, and logical sequencing. |
| D | Dimensional | Exhibits properties that contravene standard Euclidean parameters. May create topological inconsistencies or generate access points to non-standard spatial domains. |
| E | Electromagnetic | Generates, manipulates, or otherwise affects electromagnetic spectrum phenomena outside conventional physical parameters. May interfere with standard measurement and communication systems. |
| F | Functional | Material object exhibiting consistent, replicable anomalous properties. Operational methodology may be documented but remains inconsistent with known physical principles. |
| H | Hostile | Demonstrates active intention to compromise Bureau personnel or infrastructure. May employ direct physical means or indirect methods to undermine containment protocols. |
| I | Imitative | Possesses capacity to assume properties, appearance, or behavioral patterns of other entities. May compromise identification and authentication protocols. |
| M | Metaphysical | Operates through conceptual frameworks typically resistant to standard measurement methodologies. May require symbolic or abstracted containment procedures to maintain stability. |
| N | Nonbiological | Influences inert systems, energy states, or physical environments through anomalous means. May emit, disrupt, or modify technological, mechanical or elemental phenomena. |
| O | Organic | Affects or interacts with living tissue and biological systems. Capable of replication, mutation, or bio-adaptive behavior through contact or exposure. |
| P | Perceptual | Induces non-standard sensory input or processing in subjects. Effects may persist after exposure termination and remain resistant to cognitive recalibration procedures. |
| T | Temporal | Demonstrates ability to manipulate conventional causality chains or linear time progression. May generate localized chronological inconsistencies or paradoxical event sequences. |
SPECIAL HAZARD MODIFIERS
A single special modifier may be appended to an anomaly's hazard categorization to indicate exceptional status circumstances.
"-PENDING": Indicates that the anomaly's hazard profile is incomplete, contested, or under active review by dedicated BAR personnel. Used when formal categorization is delayed due to insufficient data, conflicting reports, or provisional containment.
"-NEUTRALIZED": Indicates the anomaly has been permanently rendered inert through authorized intervention protocols. Used when an anomaly no longer poses any danger but retains its documentation for reference purposes.
"-MUNDANE": Denotes complete reclassification as a standard natural occurrence following thorough investigation. Used when a phenomenon initially classified as anomalous has been conclusively determined to fall entirely within normal operational parameters.
"-THEORETICAL": Indicates an anomaly whose existence has been mathematically or conceptually predicted but not yet empirically confirmed or contained. Used for tracking potentially anomalous phenomena that have substantial evidence supporting their theoretical existence but await definitive verification.
