This glossary registers the Bureau's canonical jargon, operational terms, and informal vocabulary, grouped by category. It records terms in general Bureau-wide use; case-specific coinages are defined within their own case files and are not reproduced here.
§1 — Divisional Field Nomenclature
Informal designations for each Division's field personnel (Compendium §3).

| Operative | Field personnel, typically ARU; reports to a Handler |
| Site Director | DPC role holding local containment authority over a single Site |
| Lead Investigator | Personnel responsible for a case from intake through closure; named on the case header |
| Documentation Specialist | Personnel responsible for quarterly review and revision of Bureau documentation |
| Deputy Minister | A numbered official of the Ministry; participates in classification review |
§3 — Sites, Facilities, and Governance

| Special Pandora Site | A sub-class for dimensional, temporal, or topologically unstable phenomena; named for Greek underworld and threshold figures |

| the Ministry | The external governing body under whose oversight the Bureau operates |
| Ministerial Subcommittee | An ad-hoc body convened by a Deputy Minister for a specific matter |

| cover story | A pre-approved civilian-facing explanation issued as a Civilian Communication |
| self-normalizing | A phenomenon absorbed into common civilian experience, exempt from Civilian Communication and amnestic procedure (REG-800-12) |
| ARU | Anomaly Response Unit; also the field-team designation referenced by codename |
| the Great Reorganization | The 1912 structural transition that established the modern documentation, classification, and divisional framework (SYS-200-02) |
| the Gap | The period (approximately 1677–1731) during which no formal predecessor authority is recorded (SYS-200-02) |
